Mo Ibrahim's free governance day concert comes to Independence square Accra!

The Mo Ibrahim Concert is part of the annual Governance Weekend – the flagship event of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, held every year in mid-November in a different African country.

This three-day event convenes prominent African political and business leaders, representatives from civil society, multilateral and regional institutions as well as Africa’s major international partners to debate issues of critical importance to Africa.

The weekend begins with a Leadership Ceremony, which celebrates the Ibrahim Laureates and, if the Prize has been awarded that year, gives the opportunity to honour the new Laureate. This year’s ceremony will honour President Pohambe of Namibia.

A whole day is then dedicated to the Ibrahim Forum, a high-level discussion forum which tackles the challenges facing Africa and sets out priorities for action.

The weekend concludes with a public concert highlighting some of the best performers of the continent and a football match showcasing outstanding African football.

The event kicks off at 7:00pm and features a stellar lineup of internationally renowned artists from across Africa.

Live music concert featuring Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and DJ Mic Smith. More details including livestream available at

The concert is completely free so don’t miss out on this special night!
