Pa Gya! will be held at the Goethe Institute from Friday 20 - Sunday 22 October, 2017.
Some highlights of the festival include a conversation and poetry readings with Ama Ata Aidoo and Kobena Eyi Acquah, the launch of the Abena Korantemaa Prize for Oral History, the launch of Chuma Nwokolo's new book, The Extinction of Menai, multiple workshops, panel discussions, performances and a talk by Chinweizu. There will also be a special feature for comics and graphic novels.
Some of the guest authors are from South Africa (Niq Mhlongo, Sabata Mpho-Mokae), Canada (Wayne Johnson), Nigeria (Chuma Nwokolo, Eghosa Imasuen, Adewale Maja-Pearce), Togo (Kangni Alem) and Ghana (Nii Ayikwei Parkes, Ama Ata Aidoo, Kobena Ayi Acquah, Kofi Akpabli, Nana Awere Damoah, Sharlene Apples) among others.
Publishers and bookshops will be represented, with an interactive session with publishers for prospective writers and book sellers.
