Nordic Film Festival at The EmQuartier; 3pm; free

Hosted by the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, the Nordic Film Festival returns for the second time with eight selected films that give a glimpse of the film industry in the Nordic region. The selections are all national entries for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. Highlights include SuperClásico (2011), a Danish film set in Argentina about a man trying to win back his wife; and Kon-Tiki (2012), a Norwegian historical drama that was co-produced by five Nordic countries and the United Kingdom. Kon-Tiki is also the first Norwegian film to have been nominated Best Foreign Language Film in both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

KCON at Impact Arena; 7.30pm; B500

KCON, the global platform to celebrate all things K-Pop, is coming to Thailand for the first time in September. Kicked off in 2012 by South Korean entertainment giant CJ E&M, KCON is a platform that’s designed to bring popular K-POP stars to meet fans around the world—from Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi to Paris and Sydney. Headliners confirmed to come to the Bangkok KCON include Wanna One, GOT7, Golden Child, and Pentagon. More names will be announcedoon.

Oktoberfest at Beer Belly; 5pm; free

Thonglor’s hip beer hub Beer Belly celebrates the annual Oktoberfest with selected German brews like Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, and Erdinger that come with buy 1 get 1 free promotion alongside German delicacies like mixed premium sausage platter and lots of hot dogs. Also, you can enjoy fun activities like beer pong, pong connect, flip cup, and beer chug challenge to win special prizes.

Bangkok Underground Film Festival at Gallery VER; 7pm; free

This edition of Bangkok Underground Film Festival features screenings of 20 films over the course of two days. The films are from Thailand and all over the world, including Australia, Denmark, UK, US, and France which are a mixture of student work, documentary, animation, video art, drama, video art, and experimental work.

The Knack Market at Jam Factory; 4pm; free

The Knack Market features booths filled with street food, organic drinks, handmade leather accessories, vintage clothes and home decor. Plus live performances from bands and activities to join. The market happens every Sat and Sun at the end of the month.

Beervana Carnival at The Link Asoke-Makkasan; 6pm; free

Craft beer importer Beervana is celebrating its 6th anniversary with a carnival-themed party. As with any party, there will be games, food and, of course, a lot of beer from over 100 labels like Stone, Deschtues, Rogue, Anderson Valley and Tutara, plus surprise bottles. But that’s not all. The party will also feature beer- friendly munchies from Bangkok’s favourite eateries such as Daniel Thaiger, Where Do We Go, La Monita and more.

ANO’s Wonder Horror Land at Pullman Bangkok Hotel G; 10am; free

Thai artist Nae Anothai (ANO) illustrates her bad days in the city through cartoon illustration forms for her first solo exhibition ANO’s Wonder Horror Land.

Farmers Market II at Eats Payao; 9.30am; free

Eats Payao is hosting the second edition of its mini Farmers Market after its successful launch of the first edition earlier in September. Expect to shop through organic vegetables and more from vendors.
