Shortly after the people by globally recognized award 50 Best announced the names of 50 bars that made it to the extended part of Asia's 50 Best Bars at rank 51-100 last week, the complete list of top 50 watering holes around the continent is now revealed.
Just a quick review of last year's poll, there were five bars in Bangkok that appeared in the list, namely Backstage Cocktail Bar (no. 33), Rabbit Hole (no. 31), Tropic City (no. 24), Vesper (no. 11), and The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (no. 7).
For this year, Chinatown's crowd-pleasing Teens of Thailand has made its way back into the list at no. 48 after previously appearing at the same rank in 2019. Meanwhile, Vesper in Silom has unfortunately fallen from the top 20 to the 46th place, as well as Backstage Cocktail Bar that slightly drops to the 35th. Leaping two steps up, fun-loving Caribbean-tinged Tropic City takes the spot of no. 22. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok's The Bamboo Bar once again remains as Thailand's best bar, occupying the 11th place of the top 50 this year.
However, Rabbit Hole has slipped to number 67, which leads us to get quite excited to see how the remaining four bars would do in the top list, and now the excitement fully arrives.
This year, there are a total of 5 bars in Bangkok that receive a nod from the 50 Best committees, as follows
- The Bamboo Bar (no. 11)
- Tropic City (no. 22)
- Backstage Cocktail Bar (no. 35)
- Vesper (no. 46)
- Teens of Thailand (no. 48)
Coa in Hong Kong, China has earned the summit, defeating previous winner Jigger and Pony in Singapore.
