Famed director Banjong “Tong” Pisanthanakun will soon direct an upcoming series for Amazon Prime, according to Hollywood Reporter. The still-untitled project will be a “romantic-thriller” based on one of Thailand’s most infamous serial killers.
Tong is “thrilled” to work with Amazon for the series, which he thinks “will resonate with global audiences everywhere.” The report also reveals that the Shutter director will write and direct all the eight one-hour episodes for the streaming service.
The Amazon-exclusive series will be his next international endeavor after last year’s supernatural horror mockumentary The Medium, which screened in many international film festivals and received acclaim from audiences and critics alike.
