Andy Yang, the Thailand-born chef who snatched one Michelin from New York's Rong Tiam in 2010, has continued to build up his food empire in Bangkok, juggling around his famed eateries around town. Last year, the celebrity chef debuted his popular pad thai at upmarket food center Thai Hub Mahanakhon CUBE. This year, the chef kickstarts 2021 by relocating his hyper fine dining Table 38 from Soi Sukhumvit 38 to Siam Discovery, taking over the huge space on the ground level the now-gone-for-good Jamie Oliver's Italian once vacated. The space is, however, so massive that one eatery wouldn't fit well: that's how Pi Kun, his new Isaan-focused venture, came to life.

Chef Andy stylizes Pi Kun with a fun concept inspired by a Thai local fair, which mainly focuses on serving Thai northeastern food that is all about palate-exciting tastes.

Named after the Year of the Pig in the Chinese zodiac, the restaurant obviously emphasizes pork as the main ingredient. Andy also promises to adopt the “nose-to-tail” practice in order to minimize waste and promote environmental awareness. Pi Kun's wide-ranging menu features traditional dishes with modern tweaks like Khao Pi Kun, coconut-infused rice topped with roasted Kurobuta pork; Khao Moo Ma Kwan, deep-fried pork marinated with Thai mala herb; and Leng Sab Sab, Isaan spicy soup with pork ribs.

Other dishes that will make you drool are also roasted pork jowl, spicy pork liver salad, and even something offbeat like an Isaan take on French fries and Thai mocktails.

To celebrate the new launch, Pi Kun will be giving away its signature papaya salad served with deep-fried Chinese dough on top for every group of four diners from now until Feb 28. You can also order Chef Andy’s iconic pad thai to accompany spicy fare at Pi Kun.

Pi Kun is open daily at 11:30-14:30 and 17:30-20:30 at Siam Discovery (G Floor), and the restaurant also offers a delivery service via GrabFood and LINE MAN
