Asiatique, the riverside bazaar on Charoenkrung, has recently welcomed Siam Tea Room, the new branch of the elegant Thai restaurant by Marriott Marquis Hotel.

The restaurant is set in a wooden Thai house facing the riverfront promenade and has expansive windows that look out to front-row views of the majestic Chao Phraya River. Chef Aunkool “Aony” Poolpipat has created the menu that reflects the recipes passed down from her grandmother, which features a mix of popular dishes from the brand’s existing menu and an array of new dishes available exclusive to this new branch, including yum som choon (spicy pomelo salad with crispy fried fish and sweetened pork, B378); grilled free-range pork ribs, marinated overnight in a tamarind sauce and served with roasted rice, fried chili and kaffir lime leaves (B488); and crab curry with betel leaves, the signature recipe which features the finest local crab in a spicy, homemade yellow curry sauce served with vermicelli noodles (B688).

Asiatique seems to be very popular at the moment. Recently, the complex welcomed themed pop-up Disney Village and Crystal Grill House, where you can savor grilled meats and seafood in a glasshouse by the river. It also has Sirimahannop, a three-masted vessel that has been transformed into a floating bar.
