Membership wholesale store Tops Club celebrated its first-year anniversary in a different way: by announcing that it will shut down. Its last opening day will be on October 2, 2023.
Top Club first opened in late September 2022 as Central Group’s first membership-based wholesale store, selling imported goods in huge sizes—think Costco. We were thrilled to get our hands on gigantic bags of chips, cauldrons of cheese balls, piles of chocolate, and stacks of cheap wines.
The only problem is that it’s far from the town center, sitting on Rama 2 where traffic always sucks. Things may have turned out differently if Top Clubs were closer to Sukhumvit or even Bang Na.
Members have been informed that they will be transferred to Tops Online’s premium membership. Remaining products will also be sold online.
At the same time Tops Club announced its closure, Central Group dropped news about the opening of its new wholesale store, GO! Wholesale, on Sri Nakarin Road in late October. It is a spin-off from GO! Superstore, which first opened in Vietnam.
