A sandwich? It’s not really our first choice for a takeaway. After all, you can simply take two slices of supermarket-bought bread, and slap on the ham and cheese that’s been in the fridge for God knows how long—and that’s it! It’s filling, but you wouldn’t really call it an exciting meal.

Sandwiches don’t have to always be banal and boring. Forget about layering basic bread, factory-made meat and tasteless cheese at home, and call these four restaurants for an elevated, not to mention generously portioned, sandwich packed with premium and yummilicious ingredients.

The St. Regis Bangkok’s signature fine-dining restaurant has started offering delivery on elevated versions of simple home-cooked dishes.

We hands-down recommend the chicken panini (B260). IGNIV’s Swiss chefs use a secret recipe to create a heavenly sandwich of perfectly toasted bread with Gruyere cheese and grilled chicken. Try this in case you’re wondering what a gourmet sandwich really tastes like.

This new restaurant on Soi Lasalle 46 by British owner Thomas Staniland offers comforting “quality” and “healthy” dishes, from a continental breakfast, to pasta, to a wide range of first-rate sandwiches.

Go for the delectable piri piri chicken sandwich. For B180, you can fill up your tummy with flavorful aromatic roasted chicken and crunchy veggies packed in between slices of toasted baguette. Discounts are also offered for direct orders via LINE (@sandwichgarden).

Normally, you would go to this club at Central Embassy for a fun evening of chill vibes and delicious bites, such as their roasted portobello mushroom sandwich (B360). This meatless dish boasts sourdough buns stuffed with portobello mushrooms, garna cheese and bechamel sauce infused with truffles. If you’re missing this sandwich, go ahead and order it for delivery.

Sourdough fans will certainly appreciate the sandwiches at VIVIN. Sourdough baguette—crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside—are used to make hearty options like the Jambon-Fromage Sandwich (B280 for 20cm/B495 for 40cm). An evolution of the simple ham and cheese sandwich, it comes with delicious ham and Swiss cheese from a local producer in Chiang Mai.
