There are very few national food holidays we'll get behind these days, but National Doughnut Day still holds our attention. If you're looking to celebrate the holiday in style, we have just the thing: deals and steals on Chicago's favorite doughnuts for one day only, Friday, June 2. Here's where to indulge.
Stan's Donuts: The constantly expanding sweet spot will be doling out free doughnuts with any purchase at all of its locations on Friday.
Glazed & Infused: The dough depot will be handing out gift cards for one free vanilla bean glazed doughnut with purchase, which can be redeemed between June 5 and July 5. Though you won't be able to cash in on your freebie on actual Doughnut Day, stores will be offering a limited-edition vanilla glazed treat with red, white and black sprinkles ($3 each, 50 percent of proceeds go to the Salvation Army).
Dunkin' Donuts: Treat yourself to a free classic doughnut with the purchase of any beverage all day Friday while supplies last.
Krispy Kreme: You'll have to trek out to Homewood (17815 Halsted St) to redeem this deal, but a free doughnut might be worth the trouble. Customers can take their pick of any doughnut on the menu at no cost.
Fremont: Head to River North for a two-hour doughnut extravaganza at Fremont. For $20, guests can eat their way through doughnut stations, doughnut ice cream sandwiches, a glaze fountain, boozy gelato, a coffee bar and a doughnut ring toss from 5 to 7pm on Friday.
Fifolet Cajun & Cocktails: The Wicker Park restaurant opens from 7:30 to 11:30am on Friday to serve to-go bags of hot beignets and cups of Café Du Monde coffee for $8 (beignets can be purchased separately for $6). Dinner guests will also be treated to a complimentary order of beignets later in the day.
