Chicago’s longest-running and largest film festival returns for its 53rd edition this year, with the first local screenings of anticipated new movies like Lady Bird, Call Me By Your Name and The Shape of Water and special programs focusing on architecture (in collaboration with the Chicago Architecture Biennial) and international film noir. Many filmmakers will be on-hand for post-screening Q&As and panels covering several topics in filmmaking.

The 2017 festival takes place October 12–26.

Where is the Chicago International Film Festival?

All screenings take place at AMC River East 21, 322 E Illinois St, with the exception of a handful of special events. Take the Red Line to Grand or take any of the Navy Pier bus routes (29, 65, 66, 124).
