Here’s where you can drop off your mail-in ballot in Chicago

Are you still holding on to a mail-in ballot? While you can technically still send it in via USPS—anything postmarked on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3) or earlier will be counted, per Illinois law—the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners recommends submitting your completed ballot at one of the city's new ballot drop boxes, which are located in every ward of Chicago.

Here's where you can find a drop box near you.

Early voting locations

All of the city's early voting sites are equipped with ballot drop boxes. The following locations are open on weekdays from 8:30am to 7pm and weekends from 9am to 5pm. They'll also be open on Election Day from 6am to 7pm.

You can find a 24-hour ballot drop box at 69 W Washington St, which will remain open until 7pm on Election Day. On Election Day only, you can drop off your ballot at the United Center (which is also serving as a voting super site, meaning any city resident can vote there) from 6am to 7pm.
