Earlier today, the Michelin Guide—arguably, the most recognized restaurant review operation in the world—announced new additions to its selection of restaurants around the country, including three in Chicago.

"Besides Chicago-style pizza, Michael Jordan, and the Chicago Cubs, the Windy City is also home to some of the most flavorful restaurants in the nation," reads the guide's official release. "Don't believe us? Check out our latest additions to find out for yourself what we mean."

The organization's mentions range in cuisine and geographical location, but all have one thing in common: They are absolutely delicious. In total, Chicago is now home to 154 Michelin-recommended restaurants. Michelin will announce its Star and Bib Gourmand awards later this year.

Here are the latest additions:

Anelya

An ode to Ukrainian cuisine named after chef Johnny Clark's own grandmother, Anelya in Avondale has been delighting Chicagoans since first opening in 2023.

Helmed by Clark and his wife Beverly Kim, the restaurant is only one of few handful Ukrainian eateries in town despite Chicago boasting the second largest population of Ukrainians immigrants in the U.S. Clearly, things are done right here.

Among the many standout aspects of the experience is the zakusky cart filled with an array of hors d'ouevres that are sure to appeal to any palate.

Bayan Ko

Another culinary gem by a husband-and-wife team, Bayan Ko is the Ravenswood brainchild of Lawrence Letrero and Raquel Quadreny, who celebrate their Cuban and Filipino heritages in very unique and delightfully culinary ways.

Although the cuisines are usually served family-style, the owners here opt for a tasting menu filled with outstanding dishes, like the arroz caldo and the vaca frita, both must tries.

Lest you get confused: As fancy as the food is, the vibes inside are super chill, allowing you to have a relaxed experience.

Beity

Located in Fulton Market is Lebanese restaurant Beity, courtesy of chef Ryan Fakih. From a dish of falafel in yogurt sauce to the sayadieh—a fish and rice concoction—just about everything served here will leave a lasting impression as the family recipes are delightful.
