Siang & Malam: The Landscape In Mind

Jalaini Abu Hassan is no stranger to the art scene. ‘Siang & Malam’ will feature a new body of work, displaying 12 landscape paintings inspired by the affairs of present-day Malaysia, and interpreted through the artist’s own personal experiences of nostalgia and history. The two parts of the exhibition each have their own characteristics; the works in ‘Siang’ are made with bright and powerful colours, representing an ideal outlook; while ‘Malam’ portrays a darker side, adding a sense of mystery to the landscapes.
