Rainbow Screen Cinemas: Closing the Doors

'Closing the Doors' is a 30-minute documentary that examines the high-profile banning of a 2011 sexuality rights movement in Malaysia. Directed by Dr Julian CH Lee, the film explores the festival (which shall remain unnamed) and all the buzz – conflict, courtroom drama and all – surrounding it back then. Guest speakers at this screening include human rights lawyer Honey Tan, Monash University School of Arts & Social Sciences anthropologist Dr Yeoh Seng Guan and community organiser Thilaga.
