For a man as busy as Alex M.O.R.P.H., it is a wonder the Bochum-born trance DJ and producer still found time to release an album this year. ‘Prime Mover’, the follow up to 2009’s ‘Purple Audio’ album that spawned club hits such as ‘Photograph’ and ‘Sunset Boulevard’, is reward for the German’s legions of fans. With gigs at Trance Energy, Mayday, Nature One, Cream Ibiza and A State of Trance, Alex’s energetic live shows are truly memorable, especially if he decides to unleash his collaborations with fellow countryman Paul van Dyk on the city’s EDM-loving crowd this month.
Aside from van Dyk, Alex has also worked for and with some of the biggest names in EDM, including Armin van Buuren, Faithless, Markus Schulz and Rank 1, whom he partnered with to release 2007 dance floor favourite ‘Life Less Ordinary’. In addition to production work, Alex is the co-founder and co-host of HeavensGate, a global radio and event outfit that delivered the Boat Party and the Loveparade float, alongside Woody van Eryden. After lighting up last year’s Massive dance music festival as one half of an iconic B2B DJ team with van Eryden, the versatile Alex M.O.R.P.H. is back in KL to show that hard work does pay off.
