Bring your family for a day out at MAP Publika for a festival that highlights the heritage of Middle Eastern refugees. The two-day FAME Festival 2017 (Food and Arts of the Middle East) will shine the spotlight on the talents and heritage of refugees from Iraq, Palestine, Yemen and Syria who are currently staying in Malaysia. You can expect a bazaar, arts and crafts exhibitions and more – all Middle Eastern themed of course. There will also be cooking workshops where you can learn how to make popular Arabic dishes, as well as theatre performances at night. Note that tickets are required for the cooking workshops and theatre performances. (Tickets are obtainable by ‘pledging’ to the project, which can be done at the event’s crowdsourcing website or through direct transfers.)
