Between Bridges

Like Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects, Wolfgang Tillmans’s Between Bridges is an example of a mega-successful artist funding their own non-profit venue. The gallery occupies little more than the entrance hall and stairwell of an anonymous Bethnal Green building (Tillmans’s studio is on first floor), but it’s where we head to check out hip US collectives or obscure German typographers we didn’t know we needed to know about.
