Time Out says

Chris Burden's early work involved pretty serious physical damage to himself and does-what-it-says-on-the-tin labelling. See, for example, 'Shoot' a 1971 work that centred on the artist being shot in the arm. (He wasn't meant to actually be shot, the bullet should have grazed the skin, but instead it went straight through). There was also 'Five Day Locker Piece' where Burden was - you've guessed it - shut in a locker for five days.

Later in his career he switched to installations and sculptures, two of which are being shown at Gagosian Britannia Street. One is a porshe counterweighted with a meteorite, and the other is crane truck painted to show its weight-lifting ability. Burden played an important part in the birth of performance art, and it's worth taking the time to see these artworks on display.
