The CAA is consistently inventive with its exhibitions of its 300-plus makers. The applied arts here embrace the functional in the form of unique pieces of jewellery, textiles and tableware as well as ceramics, glass, metal, paper, silver and wood, but there are also purely decorative pieces such as wall-hangings made of recycled ceramic and mosaic shards.
The ground-floor gallery space houses solo or themed exhibitions, while the large basement shop area has pieces for all pockets, from both established members and newcomers. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, CAA will probably be able to direct you to a maker who undertakes commissions with whom you can discuss your specific requirements.
