Designed by Martino Gamper with graphs by Åbäke, Crafting Narrative showcases a range of new and commissioned works, films, sculptures, texts and photographs by 12 contemporary makers and design studios, all of which collectively examines the idea of storytelling. From Zhenhan Hao’s improvised pieces created with craftspeople from Chinese villages, to Hilda Hellström’s food vessels consisting of lifeless soil taken from inside the Fukushima-Daiichi exclusion zone in Japan, every artwork on display in some way addresses the ability of objects to reveal historical, social and cultural narratives beyond their physical existence.
