This new site-specific art trail features works by 26 artists, located around the grounds of a Victorian cemetery. Using sculpture, film, ceramics and textiles, artists have created works to link their own specialism to historical burials: ceramic artist Julian Stair has created pieces to reflect West Norwood’s Doulton and Lambeth pottery connections and sugar sculptor Brendan Jamison will create a sculpture made from sugar cubes. Other works include an animated film by Jo Lawrence glowing from inside a mausoleum, a celebration of Mrs Beeton by artist Sophie Herxheimer, a huge painted ship sculpture in the Greek section, a bus stop to the afterlife, a tree full of architectural bird boxes and a Victorian train/ rickshaw for visitor rides around the site.
