Emptiness is the theme that underlines this exhibition, in which Italian artist Diego Perrone presents two new bodies of work. Inspired by Alexander McQueen’s iconic armadillo shoes, Perrone’s glass sculptures link modern ideas of absence with an antique crafting technique typically used for portraying scenes of death and war in Greek Roman tradition. Meanwhile, a row of empty office chairs brings up ideas of everyday monotony and lack of inspiration, perhaps evoking the absence of fulfilment in the corporate environment.
