Set up in 2007 as a not-for-profit venture by leading contemporary art collector David Roberts, Gallery One One One is part-charitable foundation, part-open premises in which patrons can show their acquisitions. The HQ of the David Roberts Art Foundation, it’s dedicated to showcasing freshly commissioned work by artists and curators, encouraging collaborations and acting as a platform for what it terms ‘artistic dialogues’. In addition to exhibitions from acclaimed conceptual talents such as Jason Dodge, Nina Beier and Marie Lund and the sculptor Alastair Mackie, Gallery One One One’s dynamic permanent collection features over 1,500 works by more than 300 British and international artists. The focus is firmly on contemporary pieces and the diversity is breathtaking. Graduates, emerging talents and established artists show side by side in this unique space.
