Guy Ben-Ner: Soundtrack

Set in his own kitchen, Guy Ben-Ner’s new film reminds us that the conflict of territorial wars can be felt within one’s own domestic environment. Based on scenes from the Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, the protagonists are acted out by his own family members, though all dialogue and music are taken from Spielberg’s film. A highlight of the piece is the cameo appearance of Israeli documentary filmmaker Avi Mograbi, whose presence, together with footage depicting the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, adds a weighty element to the film.
