Crossing the divide between painting and sculpture, the German artist toys with the boundaries of an age-old medium. Often extending out from the gallery wall, Münster’s assemblages of overlapped canvases are devoid of representational scenes. Instead he reworks over his old paintings in a myriad of colour palettes allowing clues of the former to break through the textural surfaces.
