Leo Fitzmaurice: Post Match

  • Art

Time Out says

For the past decade, Fitzmaurice has embarked on creating a global football league. How the hell haven’t you heard of this? Well it’s not a literal league, but an artistic endeavour. Using discarded cigarette packets from numerous continents, the 2011 Northern Art Prize winner has skilfully crafted miniature football shirts. Seeing the comparison between cigarette branding and that of sports top, this almost anthropological enterprise, is both witty and culturally revelatory.
