If we mention the words 'locust plague' and 'Jerusalem', most people will think we're referencing a gory event in the Old Testament, right? Wrong. In 1915, Jerusalem and areas of Syria were genuinely hit by a massive plague of locusts. Photographs showing the coordinated attempts of locals, including members of the American Colony, to get rid of the beasts form the basis of this new exhibition by Lisa Oppenheim. These images are shown alongside another series, 'Wildflowers of Palestine and Religious Paintings', both of which use stereoscopy, a historic method for making a picture look 3D.
