It's not a huge space, but Damien Hirst has made a nice, comfy out of the way art gallery that's clean and great for a stroll. I came by for the Jeff Koons exhibition and spent about half an hour walking around admiring the pop art. It's a high ceilinged, fun place that doesn't take itself too seriously (as Hirst is wont to do), and I can't wait to see what new pieces come in. The museum shop is nice too, but the real draw I think, has to be Pharmacy 2 for the great drinks. Who DOESN'T need alcohol while attempting to unravel the mysteries of modern art?

At first I wasn't expecting the Newport Street Gallery to be where it is. It is quite hidden for those walking around these cornered streets in the Lambeth area of London. It's a very large, spacious gallery but at the same time it's small. The small amount of exhibits being displayed at the Jeff Koons: Now exhibition probably makes the gallery spaces much wider. It's a well designed gallery with the spiral staircases and let's not forget about the famous Pharmacy 2. The restaurant to my surprise was filled of people who were enjoying the setting of the establishment. The design and the aesthetic behind the restaurant is quite unique. The design of the pills and the medication around the walls adds the extra edge that a restaurant inside an art installation needs. It's definitely an art gallery to visit for all budding artists out there and more. And let's not forget people, it's completely free. # TOTastemaker Love MD.

Sooooooo ... I came looking for a good time and a little mind stimulation. I got that and more!

the gallery itself is huge in terms of floor to wall ceilings .. the pieces i saw on the top floor were great! colourful and original .. If you like contemporary "out there" pieces of ART then this is the place for you!

the staircase to the top floor gave me a little workout .. oh there was porn in one of the rooms.. "apparently" the artist and his ex wife took those photos in the name of ART .... beware its XXX level of explicit .. made for an interesting afternoon though

I love the staircases and the natural light throughout.  It's actually not a big space but as they only have one exhibition at a time, it feels really spacious.  For some reason, I expected to see a "permanent collection" section of Damien Hirst art but there isn't one.  Interestingly, it's not an "Exit through the Gift Shop" layout.  You leave where you enter and the gift shop entrance is at street level.
