Time Out says

Michaels’s photography explores how digital applications are used to instantly manipulate appearance, as he takes pictures of architecture and then changes the initial look by de-saturating them and abstracting functionality from photographed buildings - such as editing outdoors, windows, drains, etc. In his show at COLE, such pictures become part of an installation alongside two sculptures. The latter are sketched up digitally by the artist (as is typical of, and essential in, all of his work), and then produced in collaboration with a fashion designer (Kim Coiffier) and a patissier (Lily Vanilli). The result looks ‘like extreme postmodern architecture’.
