Performed Painting

Painting has long grappled to stay pertinent in age of new technologies. And although the death of painting has certainly been averted, artists now approach the medium with a different set of rules. Here four artists engage with the materiality of painting through performance and film and video as well as action painting to challenge visual representation and limitless possibilities of the medium.
