Rayyane Tabet: Encounters
Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.
The personal and the political collide in the artworks of Lebanese artist Rayyane Tabet. One of the works featured in this solo show is made from the oars of a rowing boat the artist's father purchased with the intention of escaping their home country for Cyprus. Long after that aborted attempt at fleeing, the family re-found the same boat completely by accident. This same sense of uncanny encounters also echoes through his other sculptures and installations.
