Robert Irwin

Amongst Pollock and Rothko in the quiet rise of the 60’s Light and Space Movement, Robert Irwin has continually broken down the framing of art for over six decades. Piccadilly, generated from 47 fluorescent tubes, is a memorising feature and prototype in depicting Irwin’s renegotiation of art as existent only in relation to the condition of the environment it’s placed in.
