Time Out says

This group exhibition takes its title from bell hooks' seminal book on black self esteem and politics. Bringing together historic and new works by eleven black artists, the exhibition argues that questions of race and gender are as relevent to the art world today as they ever have been. See figurative and abstract works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Sonia Boyce, Karon Davis, Zanele Muholi, Wangechi Mutu, Frida Orupabo, Howardena Pindell, Betye Saar, Khadija Saye, Tschabalala Self and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
