In an exploration of dreams through painting and animation, Syrian artist, Safwan Dahoul seeks shelter from political turmoil in his first body of work since he fled Damascus for Dubai. In a show of quiet escapism, we see his late wife bent in a puppet-like slump, her definition drained with each repetition. Huge, smooth wave-like lines of figure silently emerge from voids of monochrome and checkerboard baths. Blanketed in painful lethargy, Dahoul's work is melancholic but beautiful; a striking show for the artist's Uk solo debut.
