Sohei Nishino

Inspired by the Japanese map-maker Ino Tadataka, Nishino’s latest Diorama Map series reconfigure Berlin, New Delhi, Amsterdam, Jerusalem, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Bern into huge tableaux collages. Spending months in a city, this young Japanese artist photographs multiple viewpoints, which he then meticulously crafts into a fragmented bird’s-eye-view of these ever-changing metropolises.
