Tadashi Kawamata uses reclaimed wood to create beautifully ramshackle sculptures, often for site-specific locations. This exhibition concentrates on the contemporary artist's 'maquettes', an ongoing collection of wall-based works that protrude out of the flat surface. The splintered sections of organic material suggest the aftermath of a natural disaster or the rebuilding of a place after devastation, hence: destruction / reconstruction.
