Template for Terror: The Revival of the Gothic

A weekend of events examining the influence of 'the Gothic' on contemporary culture – from 'Dracula' and 'Frankenstein' to 'Twilight' and 'Shaun of the Dead'. On offer are panel discussions, presentations and screenings exploring the impulse that draws us to the darker side of life. Events include: Sat: a panel discussion about Horace Walpole's 'The Castle of Otranto' (3pm) and screenings of short films by Jan Svankmajer (7pm); Sun: 'Gothic Art: Beyond Motif' panel discussion (5pm).
