Transitions

This small exhibition at the Bethlem Art Gallery runs concurrently to 'The Four Ages of Women' at the larger Museum of the Mind upstairs in the same building. Artists Esther Maxwell-Orumbie and Sarah Carpenter worked with the hospital's Mother and Baby Unit to create lino and mono prints, textiles and writings. Maxwell-Orumbie's art is influenced by motherhood and West African culture, and Carpenter's is inspired by her personal experience of mental illness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
