The Palace's major exhibition for summer 2012 tells the story of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, celebrated in 1897, from the perspective of the millions who joined in the festivities. The show emphasises the great enthusiasm for and excitement generated by the celebrations, focusing on the procession through London on June 22, 1897, when Victoria, members of the royal family and soldiers from around the world made their way to a special service at St Paul's Cathedral. On show are items associated with the jubilee, including uniforms worn in the parade and the lace flounce worn by Victoria in her official jubilee portrait. There are also sound, film and interactive displays.
