You might not know his name, but Joseph Lister is kind of a big deal in the world of medicine. Known as the ‘father of antiseptic surgery’, he introduced carbolic acid to sterilise equipment and wounds, reducing the risk of infections in patients. Located on Portland Place, the bust is near where Lister once lived.
