Museum dedicated to telling story of the life of the hugely popular and imaginative writer who captured the imagination of many children and adults with such stories as 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', 'The Witches' and 'Tales of the Unexpected'. Dahl's wish was that his drafts, manuscripts, letters and photos remained together in the UK, and they are all housed in this museum – a former coaching inn – as well as being available in an online, searchable archive. Visitors can learn about Roald Dahl's life through interactive displays, films, photos and exhibits. Upon entering the Story Centre, children will be given an Ideas Book to use, as Dahl did, to write down their thoughts to turn into stories. There are also plenty of games and books to play with and read, and information on contemporary writers – such as JK Rowling and Philip Pullman – who were inspired by Dahl.
