The poet Byron used to spend a lot of his time in this 900-year-old churchyard, lounging on his favourite large flat gravestone, gazing out at the magnificent view and writing his poetry. Known as the Peachey Stone it is now covered by a protective grill, and on a good day you can see all the way to Windsor.
