A pleasant, pretty inner-city community space that's tucked away behind King's Cross station. Locals gather here to socialise, excercise and get their hands dirty gardening. There are also programmes that offer horticultural training for adults with learning difficulties and their five-a-side futsal (like football, but on a smaller scale) pitch is available for hire, alongside the gardens themselves and function rooms. Prices are listed on their website.

It was a beautiful midweek afternoon on a Monday and I had a rare day off work.

I decided I wanted tea and cake in the sunshine but I didn't really know where I could find an outdoor cafe near Kings Cross, so typically stubborn me I decided to just walk until I stumbled across something.

Then I spotted a sign saying cafe and ice cream and upon further investigation saw it was a community garden centre, park and cafe. Completely unexpected considering I was so close to Kings Cross. It was such a peaceful little spot, especially on a Monday day time.

I opted for a slice of home made peach cake and a nice traditional English tea. Took a nice seat outside and just had a rare chill moment.

It's worth a little visit and you are supporting a local community by buying the home made treats. It is a rather surprising beautiful little spot

This is a lovely, restful spot on an otherwise busy street. This green space has real character, and shows community care.
