Sitting pretty under a pixie hat-shaped red tiled roof, the Old Well is a picturesque reminder of Tottenham's pre-urban past. Built in 1791, it supplied most of the district with water until 1883, when it was found to be polluted with sewage produced by the area's mushrooming population.
