This exhibition explores the real-life history behind Michael Morpurgo's novel 'War Horse', with objects from the collection, interactive displays and material from Morpurgo's archive, as well as material from the National Theatre production, examining the vital role of the horse during times of conflict. There are also costumes and props from the Steven Spielberg 'War Horse' film, plus illustrations by the film's equine artist, Ali Bannister. At the centre of the exhibition is a life-sized barbed-wire sculpture of a horse by artist Laura Antebi.
