Every year, 40ft Brewery and Michelin-starred restaurant St. John team up to create the Eccles Stout, a brew inspired by St. John’s famed Eccles cakes recipe. To launch this year’s edition (which has ‘notes of spice, nutmeg, dark chocolate, rich malt and currants’), Trevor Gulliver and his team will head to the Walthamstow brewery with a stash of ox heart buns, pig cheek pies, potato pies, doughnuts and (of course) Eccles cakes in tow. There’ll be vinyl spinning all afternoon and cans of the new Eccles Stout to take home.
