I went there for (what I thought would be) a quick lunch before a matinee play next door. They have a very good priced pre-theatre menu so it seemed a very good idea. The very few ground floor tables were taken, so I went downstairs (not so nice on a sunny day). It really wasn’t crowded and the person serving was super friendly and actually quite fast, still, she was only one person serving all the tables, therefore, it took forever to be able to order, in between plates and receiving and paying for the bill. I really thought one hour, by myself, was more than enough to have a lunch, but I barely made to the show! The food wasn’t marvellous, but for the price, quite fine.

Waitress spat at me – avoid at all costs

I would avoid going to here; dreadful food, atrocious service and they have a staff member who is extremely aggressive and vicious – this waitress spat at me and colleagues when we disputed the bill due to their bad service.

Went with workmates as we were due to attend a play next door. We arrived for our booking a 6pm thinking we had plenty of time to make the 7.30pm show. We were wrong. It took a significant amount of time for our order to be taken. It was about 30 mins before we even got our drinks and over an hour later we still had not all been served our main meal. One of my colleagues had to make do with only his starter for dinner. We flagged to the waitresses who “served” us several times that we needed to leave before our show started at 7.30pm but they didn’t seem that bothered and continued to take their time bringing our orders – which arrived ad hoc – meaning that some people had finished eating their main whilst others still waited for theirs.

Everyone, bar me, ordered the three course set menu but, due to the time taken, we were unable to wait for dessert.

We wanted to dispute the bill, due to the bad service, but decided as we had literally five minutes before our show started to just pay the bill. When we asked to pay by card we were told that the card machine was not working and told to get cash from a cash machine a 10 min walk away. This we might have been able to do if we didn’t have a show to go to. We scrapped what little cash we had, half of the bill, and said we would come  back after the show to pay.

When we got outside we decided that we would not pay the remainder due to the fact we had not received all our food – but still been charged for the full set menu.

When we came out of the show the supervisor was waiting for us and demanded that we pay our bill. One of my colleagues explained that we would not and we began to make our way to the train station – as we did this the waitress spat at us, some of this spit landed on me!

Never in my life have I encountered such disgusting behaviour and certainly not in someone who works in the service industry. I made a complaint to the police who have made a record of this and will also be taking further action elsewhere. I would never go again to this restaurant – the food was sub-standard, the service ridiculously slow and the staff member who spat at us is repulsive.

I've visited Andalucia on several occasions, the last for a birthday meal with eight friends.  I really like the atmosphere, the food is very good quality and the wines are excellent, all at very competitive prices. I'll definitely go again and highly recommend it.
