Time Out says

This slick little bar at the Aldgate end of Brick Lane hosts club nights, live acoustic music, comedy, film screenings and variety events. There's a cute little garden area too, though it can get busy come summertime.

It's mostly about the cocktails at Apples and Pears. Options range from an eponymous house number (made from Russian Standard Platinum vodka, lemongrass, cloudy apple, garam masala caramel and Angostura bitters) to their take on a bloody mary - here called a 'bloody marley'. It's got a jerk kick, from Levi Roots' Reggae Reggae sauce.

There's a short wine list too, as well as Blue Moon, Hoxton Stout, Bethnal Pale Ale, Brick Lane Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale catering to the beer hounds.

DJs every Friday and Saturday. Cocktails. Pizzas. Heated garden. Great for private parties.

We are a independent, fun cocktail bar off Brick Lane, with an outdoor area, serving fabulously mixed drinks, whilst introducing colourful flavours and ingredients.

Our music programme is eclectic and lively, spinning records from funk and old school hip hop to disco, and soul at the weekends with some live music during the week. We have cocktail specials for £6.50 until 8pm daily. Feeling peckish? A wood fired pizza menu is available for party bookings.

We have two floors: a lounge bar with a centre skylight bar, and a late-night basement bar with a brick-vaulted ceiling, which is available for private hire. Both bars have access to a heated garden.

Apples and pears is one of those places you’ve probably walked passed a thousand times. Dare to break the habit and enter and find a long narrow bar with an cosy yet uncluttered feel. They have a wonderfully crafted gin menu with various flavoured tonics, all garnished beautifully by a very charming bar tending team! The cocktails are worth working through too! The music played is the type to make you smile ear to ear, shout ‘I haven’t heard this in ages!’, and totter over to the little dance floor for a wiggle. This will always be a go-to bar!

It was a friend’s birthday and we had heard good things about Apples and Pears (stairs, for those who understand cockney slang). The establishment has a bit of an eclectic industrial feel to it, giving it the quirky East London moody atmosphere. The service here is friendly and helpful, and the happy hour cocktails nice and boozy. They also do any of the classics you desire (my whisky sour hit the spot). They have live music some nights, so do check their website for details. If you’re bringing cake, do remember to bring your own tableware and cutlery as they don’t really have the facilities for this. Overall, a great little place for a tipple or two… or three.

Tip: they have happy hour (yay!) till 8pm and a neat little outdoor courtyard area for warmer nights. The place is small, so do make a reservation so it guarantees you some seats.

Good For: celebrations, farewells, events, casual drinks, big groups, catch up with friends, cocktails, outdoor area

Great tasting cocktails with a brilliant range for any tastes. Nice atmosphere and decor though table reservations are a must unless you turn up very early! Lots of fun and would hurry back again.

Good cocktails, great live music and very friendly staff in a pretty nice venue. It is slightly on the expensive side but definitely one of the better bars in that area

For good vibes, great cocktails and a pleasant atmosphere - this is the place to be!

Such a great selection of cocktails and the atmosphere is always positive. The owners are friendly and well there's good looking bar staff too! 👍🏾

The bar staff are friendly professional and very knowledgable about drinks, (the cocktail list is yummy!!) the atmosphere is warm and inviting it's a lovely cosy place to go to for drinks, and music, in the heart of the city, making it great night out.

Great bar with a wide range of cocktails and food. Friendly staff and top notch service. Recommended for after work drinks or a lively Saturday night.

Nice, busy bar playing remixes of 80s, 90s and 00s pop hits when we were there. There's a little courtyard garden at the back, which closes at 11. Great cocktails but expect hipster prices.

The friendliest bar in London with the best cocktails, great music and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you never want to leave! Both owners and staff work incredibly hard and are continuously improving and updating the venue, listening to their customers and ensuring that everyone that passes by has an unforgettable experience.

What a great find. Small bar at what used to be considered the wrong end of Brick Lane. No more ! This is absolutely the right place to be. Friendly staff buzzing atmosphere and last night (at Wham Bam Thank You Mam ) 4 awesome female acoustic guitarists. The headliner - Emily Lee was a showstopper. If the stage had been raised a little to improve sight-lines this would have got 5 stars all the way.

Great little bar, with a lively upstairs, and intimate basement with a more clubby feel. Hosts lots of cool independent nights from smaller promoters. Well worth a look!
