Time Out says

After a recent facelift, this central Soho institution is hoping to welcome even more punters to its countless themed nights. The illustrated ceiling, video screens above the bar and mismatched seating make for a scruffy chic look, although the adjacent Boudoir bar is plusher, more ornate and – with its sawn-off baths as seating and bidets as tables – rather more eccentric. Happy hours, a late licence, resident DJ and a extensive bar food menu are pluses.

Do not book with Bar Soho. We spent £2500 to hire the room upstairs for a big event. Although it started well, with the staff and manager treating us well. The door staff started acting aggressively to us, including those managing the event and our DJ and photographer, stopping them from reentering the room we had hired. Our photographer was not even able to get back in to get his camera back. They also were intimated our members, who were being refused re-entry, with homophobic and sexist slurs. This is not acceptable at a low-budget night club, but is certainly not at a private event where we had spent so much to hire the room. DO NOT HIRE THEIR ROOM.

The best thing about this bar is its daily happy hour, which offers half price drinks till 8pm

The staff and security are friendly and there is party music played.

It can get a little crowded and loud sometimes but overall still a great venue to hang out in.

Went on a tuesday during happy hour which lasted till 8pm. We ordered a cocktail and a glass of wine, the round was less than £6, the cheapest round I've had in london so far. The bar tenders were friendly and the decor was cool with oldschool TV's on above the bar. The only downside was the music and after 8pm it was cranked up. If you are going another time-  the price would go up to double, so might be worth getting a cocktail voucher 2for1 when registering on the website.

It's a nice bar to stop by on a night out, although it is quite expensive which is to be expected from such a central location. I like the atmosphere of the place, although it's usually either unbelievably crowded or nearly empty. I am not a big fan of the music, especially since last time I went the same song played back to back three time, My favorite part is the way the venue is decorated.

Small, decent place ideal to grab a few quick drinks before moving on to another bar or club. It's a 'drop-by' bar and you shouldn't really look to spend more than an hour or so in there. Decent music to keep you entertained while you grab your drinks, oh and the staff is very friendly.

Situated on Old Compton Street, this place has a perfect location. I think that might be all it has. I attended a Blogger event here, hoping it would be exclusive but less than half the bar had been roped off. I didn't expect to be ID'd at the door at 7pm on a Wednesday evening so was surprised when the bouncer asked. It gets really crowded here every day of the week but I honestly can't see the allure. The bar staff weren't very polite or attentive, preferring to have a chat instead of serve. A positive though, was the house cocktails were fairly yummy!

Ten squid to get in, 18 squid for two bottles of beer and two Sambucas that were poured half full...I'm sure the drunks don't notice, everyone else should. Steer clear. Dump.
